Atty. Rhondee “Ron” E. Dumlao is a Lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has been a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines since 2014, and a member of the Philippine Institute of CPAs since 2007. Prior to joining Carpo Law & Associates, he obtained extensive experience in taxation as an associate in Baniqued & Baniqued (now Baniqued Layug & Bello), one of the leading tax firms in the Philippines, and Ernst & Young Philippines, the leading auditing firm in the Philippines.

At Baniqued Law, he represented multinational and publicly-listed entities from different industries such as business process outsourcing, real estate, shipping, toll way, beverage, oil and gas, among others; disputed tax assessments and claimed judicial refunds before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Regional Trial Courts and the Court of Tax Appeals; acted as counsel for several PEZA and BOI-registered entities; obtained rulings from BIR; handled various tax treaty relief applications; performed tax compliance audits; advised companies on tax and corporate-related matters; assisted ROHQs for the closure of branch; handled settlement of estates; and assisted individuals and families in estate tax planning.

At Ernst & Young Philippines, Ron performed tax due diligence; reviewed client’s tax position, practices and procedures to determine whether they comply with the tax laws; performed accrual reviews and audit support engagements; provided advisory by conducting research on applicable laws, regulation, and rulings; assisted in independent CPA verifications and attested to the correctness of refund; prepared income tax returns of individuals and corporations; and prepared US ITR and Federal Returns.

Ron obtained his law degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2013, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2014. He also successfully passed the Philippine CPA Licensure Exam in 2007.
