In-Depth Discussion Series: Tax Compliance, Annualization, Investigation, CITIRA
Carpo Law & Associates, in partnership with Kittelson & Carpo Consulting and AHC Certified Public Accountants, took part in the recently concluded event titled “In-Depth Discussion Series: Tax Compliance, Annualization, Investigation and Remedies, and the Future of CITIRA” held at the KMC, Net Quad, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, last November 15.
Atty. Czarina Danielle Eseque, Associate provided the details of the general defenses of taxpayers for common issues on BIR audits as well as the administrative remedies to address the subject. She also discussed the various BIR issuances, including the accompanying Letter of Authority, Assessment Notices, Appeals and Petitions.
Atty. Jon Exekiel Leveriza, Associate discussed the Corporate Income Tax and Incentives Rationalization Act (CITIRA), formerly known as the Tax Reform for Attracting Better and High-quality Opportunities or TRABAHO bill. The discourse expounded on the legislative status of CITIRA and its salient provisions. The discussion included the tax adjustments and powers granted to registered enterprises, incentives in terms of enhanced deductions, customs duties, VAT, and others, as well as the general provisions up to the extent modified by CITIRA.
Mr. Mark Joseph Pizaña, Associate Director of AHC Certified Public Accountants and Ms. Mary Jane Jong-Luarez, Assistant Manager for Payroll of Kittelson & Carpo Consulting also joined the engagement.
